Robert “Bob,” moved to South Florida at the age of 7 and attended Nova Middle and High Schools. Birdsong attended Michigan State University and left after being accepted into the United States Naval Academy. Bob served 10 years in the Navy on nuclear submarines as a nuclear engineer and as an instructor and Division Officer in Naval Nuclear Power School and Naval Nuclear Field “A” School. Upon leaving the Navy in 1990, Bob went to work for OK Generators as a Service Technician. He purchased the company with a partner in 1998 and bought out the partner in 2004. He completed his second degree in Electrical Technologies at NYU in 2003.
Bob is currently an active member of the Association of Energy Engineers, the Construction Executives Association, the Association of Building Contractors, and the Construction Association of South Florida. He is also a board member of Six Degrees of Golf and Broward 2-1-1. Bob is a corporate partner with and a contributor to Broward Health Medical Center and Salah Foundation Children’s Hospital at Broward Health. He also contributes to Broward YMCA, Urban Youth Impact, March of Dimes, and Inspiration University. Bob has three children: Bradley, Rachel, and Sarah.
